Berry Hill Lea will be located within the growing community of Berry Hill, an area bright with new opportunities, including the creation of a new school, shops, green spaces, and more – all surrounding a social village centre.

The area also benefits from a profusion of rich landscape within walking distance, as well as numerous outdoor leisure spots and destinations for family days out within a short drive. Three miles south of Mansfield town centre, the development is additionally served well by local amenities for the idyllic semi-rural lifestyle. The homes will be reached just off Sherwood Way, a minute’s drive from the A60.

This development falls under the administration of Mansfield District Council and Nottinghamshire County Council.

The local area

Berry Hill Lea is an idyllic location for those looking to live immersed in nature and history; the development is embedded in the western boundary of Sherwood Forest, an area steeped in history and folklore. There are many magical sights to explore in order to uncover the local legend, including the Sherwood Forest Railway – an 18-minute drive away – and The Major Oak, known as the shelter of Robin Hood and his merry men – 10 miles away. The royal park is also home to a Center Parcs, Go Ape Sherwood, and several golf courses.

The development has outdoor leisure opportunities even closer at hand, additionally, with the entrance to Little Hill – a local hiking trail – just 16 minutes’ walk from the door. Further afield, the Peak District National Park is a 40-minute drive away at its closest point, home to picturesque villages, walks, camping spots, and museums.

Those with younger families will be reassured by the number of schools within the Mansfield area. St Peter’s C of E Primary School is a three-minute drive from the development, while Berry Hill Primary School is two miles away.

Secondary school options include The Samworth Church Academy – an eight-minute drive away – and Ashfield School, a 25-minute bike ride away.

For those interested in pursuing higher education within the area, Nottingham Trent University’s higher education hub is just a four-minute walk away. The site is shared with Vision West Nottinghamshire College, and offers a range of qualifications for specific disciplines, including Bachelors and Foundation degrees, Higher Technical Qualifications, PGCEs, Top-up degrees, and more.

Although benefitting from the semi-rural surroundings of the Nottinghamshire countryside, Berry Hill Lea is well connected to both the nearby town of Mansfield as well as the city of Nottingham by public transport.

Cauldwell Road bus stop is just a four-minute walk away, providing regular routes through to Nottingham. Lindurst Way West bus stop is within the Berry Hill development and offers shuttles through to Mansfield town centre in 13 minutes.

East Midlands Airport is a 37-minute drive away, while Leeds Bradford Airport, Birmingham Airport, and Manchester Airport are all within a two-hour drive of the development for a large selection of destinations.

The Berry Hill development will include a number of shops within the community, as well as a health centre and petrol station. Because of this, everyday amenities are within easy walking distance, while there is a choice of larger supermarkets within three surrounding miles.

There are a handful of local pubs and restaurants within a half an hour walk, the nearest of which is The Rushley – less than half a mile away. Each of the pubs serve traditional food, while sport and live music can be found in some.

Alongside some popular flagship brands, Mansfield town centre is also host to many independent retailers if you strive to shop locally. Credible Clothing is just one of a number of independent clothing outlets, while you can also find unique home décor, dessert, and antiques all across town.
